If you attend and pass the following classes with KR Training, you will receive a certificate and challenge coin in recognition of completion of our Defensive Pistol Skills Program. The complete program is equivalent to curriculum offered by other national schools covering similar material, such as Gunsite 250 or MAG-40. This program is also equivalent to completing:
- NRA Basic Pistol (8 hours)
- NRA Personal Protection In The Home (8 hours)
- NRA Personal Protection Outside The Home (14 hours)
and 10 hours of training beyond the NRA curriculum, including force-on-force scenarios and low light shooting.

- Defensive Pistol Skills 3 (6 hours): One handed shooting, multiple threats
- Personal Tactics Skills (3 hours): criminal behavior, managing unknown contacts
- Beyond Basics Handgun (4 hours): Improvement in speed and accuracy, 5-15 yards
- Advanced Training 2 Scenarios (4 hours): Armed movement in structures, force on force scenarios
- Low Light Shooting 1 (3 hours): Flashlight, weapon mounted light, and laser techniques

The program only recognizes courses taught by KR Training staff, except for the Texas LTC and older 10-15 hour CHL course. The certification is based on completion of our curriculum. Classes attended with guest instructors we’ve hosted cover many of the same topics but do not meet program requirements.
